Here We Go!

Well...here goes my fitness journey. I started a boot camp program back in March or April (Is it sad I can't even remember which month it was!?) thanks to a sweet friend and her husband! I had been talking to her about the camp for awhile and how much I wanted to start it. I wanted to do the 5 AM class because that was really the only one my schedule would allow, but I was nervous because I had a 7/8 month old at home who nursed..ALL.THE.TIME. and also, we just couldn't afford it at the time. My friend and her husband bid on this boot camp at a silent auction we both attended and they won it and gave it to me! BLESSED. I did not waste any time signing up and headed to camp a couple of weeks later.

My first day? I almost passed out... literally. I started feeling dizzy, and nauseated and had to sit down! I went in there thinking, "I got this!"

I did not have it! Not even one tiny piece of it.

I started out hard and got brought back down to my "I'm-definitely-out-of-shape" level.  The next day was better and by the end of those 4 weeks I felt stronger! Most of my pants were already getting too loose for me and that was exciting! There is nothing like shrinking out of your size 16s!

I wanted to go back so badly! But we just couldn't afford it, like I said before. Thankfully God provided my husband with a new job and the means for me to fulfill my fitness goal. I signed up as soon as I could and the next time I went to boot camp was in September of this year. I am now in month 2 of boot camp and am seeing incredible results. I feel awesome. Although I can't really tell any difference until I put on clothes that use to "fit" but were too tight and I can pinch a good 3-4 inches away from my body. AH-MAZING.

I tried on a bridesmaid dress I wore in November 2013 to my cousin's wedding. I was 3 months post baby and, I know, it takes a little while to lose the baby weight...but this dress...when it arrived in the mail I tried it on and could NOT zip it up...like, at all. So you can imagine the excitement when I discovered I could actually zip it on her wedding day! (with the serious help of a fellow bridesmaid--embarrassing. AND I WAS WEARING SPANX). I put this vintagey pink dress on yesterday, just to see what progress I had made, and was FLOORED! not only could I put it on, but I could zip it up without any help and there was extra fabric that could be pulled away from my side. THAT, my friends, is motivation! I snapped a picture of me in the dress and sent it to my cousin-she was proud and that made me happy! She also had a great idea-to take monthly progress pics in that dress. So that is what I am going to do. So be looking for the Bridesmaid dress progress pics! Here's the first one.

I wanted to start this blog because people like Skinny Meg inspire me to get healthy and stay fit! I am almost positive some people will assume I am posting my progress pictures to gain the approval of others, but I can guarantee you, that is not me! I want to inspire, encourage, and motivate you. Whomever you may be, wherever you may be in your fitness journey, to get up and move! To eat more healthy. To inspire even one person will make it worth it for me!

I hope you enjoy this blog. I hope you get inspired by my progress, and I hope you are motivated to become more healthy!
